Trained in a scientist-practitioner model, I value the integration of scientific knowledge and research with clinical practice. I have extensive training and experience providing evaluation, consultation, and treatment services to people with a variety of different needs and situations.
In my therapy practice, I maintain an enduring interest in research examining the mind-body connection and the application of this knowledge to understanding and improving mental health functioning. Accordingly, my therapeutic approach focuses on the use of a bio-psycho-social framework, and the integration of psychosocial, neuroscientific and cognitive-behavioral treatment techniques with demonstrated effectiveness for making lasting changes and enhancing functioning. I enjoy working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and concerns.
In my assessment practice, I perform psychological evaluations for a range of clinical needs and issues, using validated testing tools and procedures. I also provide forensic mental health assessment and consultation services in a variety of civil and criminal contexts, and have worked within several social, health, and corrections agencies in Washington state.
